Converting H.265 to H.264

Using Handbrake

  1. Download Handbrake.
  2. Run Handbrake and click File to load your H.265 file into the software (or drag and drop the file into the grayed–out area).
  3. Go to the "Summary" tab and choose an output format from the Format drop–down menu. It has only three output formats: MP4, MKV, and WebM.
  4. Switch to the "Video" tab and select H.264 (×264) or H.264 10–bit (×264) from the Video Encoder drop–down menu.
    If you are a beginner (like me), then you better Leave the default settings of the quality section as they are. If you change it to a "higher" value, you will get an unbelievably HUGE file size ! an images of the default settings of the output video quality when using handbrake software
  5. Click the "Browse" button at the bottom of the window in order to choose an output path, then click the "Start Encode" green button at the top of the window.
